The short course in Generator Maintenance will introduce you to various aspects of large Turbo
Generator Technology (TGT) as commonly used in coal and gas power plants. During the course, you
will be provided with a fundamental knowledge base of the construction, design, operation and
maintenance of these large steam and gas turbine generators, but also gain a better understanding
of the auxiliary systems, inspection and control that go hand-in-hand with the implementation of
The course further touches on the operation and control of other types of generator technology,
such as diesel-powered generators and renewable photovoltaic (PV) systems.
After successful completion of the course, you will be able to:
• understand the construction, design, auxiliary systems of
large Steam and gas generators
• understand the inspection, maintenance, operation and
control of Steam and gas generators
• understand operation and control of diesel generators
and photovoltaic systems
