South Africa Travel Tips available below if you are planning to get Trainined in Gauteng Province in South Africa. That includes Johannesburg, Pretoria, Nelspruit and Capetown or Durban.

General Information

It is advisable that participants arrive in South Africa, Johannesburg at least a day before the start of the course. It is important to start early preparations towards securing passports, applicable visas, travel health and accident insurance, as well as any clearances that participants may need.

If you are from a yellow fever-mapped zone, you may need to process a valid yellow fever certificate. Most SADC member countries, as well as citizens of most of Commonwealth countries, do not require a visa prior to departure to South Africa.

In most cases visas are issued at the port of entry. If you are not sure if you need a visa, please contact us for further clarifications and procedures.

OR Tambo Airport is only 20kms from AATICD Training Center. We provide free transport for our delegates. Upon receiving your travel details, our Welfare Logistics Officer will always be at the airport to receive you. We do not charge you for this service. Once in South Africa, we will assist in confirming your return trip. The cost of air-ticket from various countries to South Africa varies. Please check with any travel agent in the capital city of your country for a quote.

Travel Health Insurance

The quote for tuition fees does not include medical expenses and medications prescribed by a medical practitioner. It is advised that participants take out a travel health insurance, or budget sufficient funds to cover any possible medical contingency. You may arrange this facility through your local travel agent or an insurance broker in the capital city of your country.

Weather Patterns in South Africa

WINTER (June – August)
Bring warm clothes such as sweaters, long-sleeved shirts, gloves, scarf and hat. A warm overcoat and an umbrella would also be advisable to bring along.

SPRING (September – October)
You will need a good mix of clothing in Spring, as temperatures vary from cool to warm. An overcoat will be needed on the coldest days and a light jacket on a warm day. Rainwear is also advisable.

SUMMER (November – March)
Summer is generally warm. Bring a light raincoat as it rains often. Bring a light jacket or jumper for the evenings.

AUTUMN (April – May)
April may be warm, with a continuation of summer temperatures; so bring light clothing, just in case. You should also bring warmer clothes.
