• Key themes: order, justice, suffering, and meaning.

Day 2: Proverbs – Practical Wisdom for Daily Living

Objectives:
• Analyse selected Proverbs on work, relationships, and speech.
• Apply proverbial principles to modern workplace challenges.
• Distinguish between descriptive and prescriptive wisdom.
• Create a personal 'proverb' for a current life situation.

Topics:
• Structure and purpose of the book of Proverbs.
• Thematic clusters: diligence, integrity, discipline, kindness.
• Speech and conflict resolution: 'a gentle answer turns away wrath'.
• Case studies: applying Proverbs to workplace ethics and team dynamics.
• Limitations of proverbs: context and exceptions.
• Activity: writing a modern proverb.

Day 3: Ecclesiastes – Navigating Life's Vanities

Objectives:
• Understand the concept of 'hevel' (vanity) and its relevance.
• Contrast temporal pursuits with lasting value.
• Apply Ecclesiastes' call to enjoy life amid uncertainty.
• Develop strategies for meaning-making in a secular context.

Topics:
• The Teacher's quest for meaning under the sun.
• The limitations of wealth, pleasure, and achievement.
• Embracing the seasons of life: a time for everything.
• Modern parallels: burnout, consumerism, and existential angst.
• Practical wisdom: joy, work, and community as gifts.

Day 4: Job – Suffering, Faith, and Resilience

Objectives:
• Analyse the problem of suffering in Job and modern life.
• Distinguish between retributive and restorative justice.
• Identify resilience factors from Job's journey.
• Apply lessons on lament and community support.

Topics:
• The narrative structure of Job: testing, dialogue, and restoration.
• The friends' arguments: retribution theology vs. mystery.
• Job's lament: honesty in suffering.
• Modern perspectives: trauma, grief, and resilience.
• The role of community in bearing burdens.
• Activity: writing a lament for a contemporary issue.

Day 5: Modern Wisdom Frameworks

Objectives:
• Summarise key modern wisdom approaches (stoicism, mindfulness, positive psychology).
• Compare their core tenets with biblical wisdom.
• Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each framework.
• Integrate complementary ideas for personal growth.

• Stoicism: control, virtue, and acceptance.
• Mindfulness: present-moment awareness and non-judgment.
• Positive psychology: strengths, gratitude, and flourishing.
• Comparative analysis: overlapping themes and tensions.

Day 6: Emotional Intelligence and Wisdom

• Define emotional intelligence (EQ) and its components.
• Link EQ competencies to biblical wisdom (e.g., self-control, empathy).
• Practise self-awareness and empathy exercises.
• Develop a personal EQ improvement plan.

Topics:
• The four domains of EQ: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship management.
• Biblical parallels: 'slow to anger', 'rejoice with those who rejoice'.
• Emotional regulation: wisdom in the heat of the moment.
• Empathy and compassion: the Good Samaritan paradigm.
• Role-play: handling a conflict with EQ and wisdom.
• Personal action plan for EQ growth.

Day 7: Decision-Making and Ethical Wisdom

• Apply biblical and modern decision-making models.
• Analyse ethical dilemmas using wisdom principles.
• Understand the role of values, consequences, and community.
• Practise making decisions under uncertainty.

• Biblical models: seeking counsel, casting lots, testing spirits.
• Modern models: rational, intuitive, and ethical decision-making.
• Ethical frameworks: deontology, utilitarianism, virtue ethics.
• Case studies: workplace ethics, personal integrity.
• The wisdom of community: collective discernment.
• Activity: solving an ethical dilemma in small groups.

Day 8: Wisdom in Relationships and Leadership

Objectives:
• Identify wisdom principles for healthy relationships.
• Apply biblical leadership models (servant leadership, stewardship).
• Develop conflict resolution and communication skills.
• Create a personal leadership philosophy statement.

Topics:
• Relationship wisdom: humility, forgiveness, and boundaries.
• Biblical leadership: Jesus as servant leader, Moses as delegate.
• Modern leadership theories: transformational, authentic, adaptive.
• Conflict resolution: biblical and contemporary approaches.
• The role of mentorship and accountability.

Day 9: Integration and Personal Development Plan

Objectives:
• Synthesise biblical and modern wisdom into a cohesive framework.
• Assess personal growth areas using wisdom criteria.
• Create a 90-day personal development plan.
• Present and receive feedback on the plan.

Topics:
• Review of key insights from the course.
• Creating a personal wisdom framework: values, practices, resources.
• Goal setting: SMART goals aligned with wisdom principles.
• Accountability structures: friends, journals, routines.
• Overcoming obstacles: relapse, doubt, and discouragement.
• Final presentations and peer feedback.
• Course evaluation and certification.

This course is made up of exercises and case studies delivered alongside the theory — no separate practical sessions are required to complete it.

Summatives

Each delegate is assessed continuously throughout the course and a final summative test at the end.

Daily Exercises — 30%

Every training day ends with a multiple-choice exercise scored out of 100%. The scores from each daily exercise are averaged across the duration of the course to produce a Daily Average mark, which contributes 30% to the final total.

Final Test — 70%

On the last day a final summative test is written. It is a multiple-choice paper with multiple-answer questions: each question may have more than one correct option, and a single wrong selection on a question marks the entire question wrong — no partial credit. The final test is scored out of 100% and contributes 70% to the overall mark.

Certificate

Certificate of Completion

Awarded to delegates who achieve an overall mark of 50% or higher on the Final Total (Daily Average 30% + Final Test 70%).
